Well it's not Rocket Science. We're eleven in number and take it in turns to select a book. We meet in the pub at 7.30 to get the drinks order in and then the discussion and the beer (other drinks are available) flows. We score each book on a scale of 1 -10 and have an all time league table. We have both a monthly selection and a "Long Read" with special events for the latter.

Again it's pretty straightforward, pick anything as long as its fiction, no biographies, histories, how to manuals, philosophy, science or journalism. The jury is still out however on the question of the Graphic Novel.

The "Long Read" is the kind of book that one should have read but somehow never quite got round to reading, Usually it lurks unseen on your bookshelf in a yellowing, fading paperback edition that you bought as a youth.
